Carlisle History and Lore
Price: $20.00
Description
This compilation of historical articles regarding Carlisle and vicinity, written by Paul D. Hoch, were first published in The Evening Sentinel between February 8,1975 and December 4,1976 as the “Walk Around Town” series.
From the author:
“These articles were written from personal recollection as well as from information gathered in research. Much has been borrowed from the writings of others. The collection is laden with folklore as well as historical facts, and it is sometimes difficult, or even impossible, to tell the difference without further research of your own. It is also important to remember that the writing is in the context of 1975-1976; there have been many changes in the landscape since then. And some things that were believed to be true then may now be thought to be merely myth. So be forewarned; this is not meant to be a scholarly work but rather an enjoyable look at some of the past life of Carlisle and the surrounding area. I hope you have as much fun reading it as I did writing it.”
