Outreach, Planning, and Rentals, Oh My!
I have always loved planning parties and events. For many years I planned birthday parties, graduation parties, picnics, and even my own wedding. Eventually, I began to volunteer for my son’s PTO at his elementary school, as well as team mom and other various positions responsible for setting up events and fundraisers. As a PTO board member, I took on the position of planning events such as the bingo, Mayfair, and pizza nights. I enjoyed the chaos with figuring out the details needed, finding volunteers, vendors, but I especially enjoyed watching everyone enjoy the event that was put together.
When I saw the position for a Community Outreach Events and Rental Assistant was needed at CCHS, it seemed like the perfect position for me! I am excited to assist in the planning of a variety of events such as our annual golf tournament, the Speakeasy, McLain Celtic Festival, and Annual Dinner… just to name a few. Each event is different in planning methodologies, but all require countless hours of planning, scheduling, and coordination to make them a success. I feel so fortunate to work with amazing volunteers and colleagues as this is always a group effort.
In additional to the events, I also have the pleasure of assisting potential renters at one of our rental spaces. Todd Hall, Cumberland Room, and Pocket Park are busy as always. The Two Mile House has seen an explosive growth in rentals. The Two Mile House is busy with weddings, bridal and baby showers, picnics, and holiday parties. This trend is continuing in 2020 and many weekends, especially in May, June, and October are already booked for 2020. I enjoy meeting each potential renter, showing off this amazing property, and answering questions they have in order to make their event special.
