Join Education Curator Matthew March for a fun Tie Dye afternoon. Participants will make their own shirt to take home in the spirit of the 60s. Ages 8-12; 15 slots available; $20 per child and includes supplies and t-shirt.

Internationally known stone carver Frank Maurer will present a Scots-Irish heritage Tartan Stone to CCHS at the Two Mile House and share the history of the stone and its Scots-Irish connections. Light refreshments will be served.  This is a free RSVP event.     

The Pre-Event Cocktail Party at the Two Mile House will have delicious food provided by local caterers and restaurants as well as a Scotch tasting. The event is open to the public and admission is $50. Register online below or call 717-249-7610.

Thanks to the generous support of Society member Maureen Reed and her family, CCHS will host the first annual R.C. Reed lecture on Cumberland County architecture. Architectural historian Wendy Pires will speak on "Mid-Century, Middle-class, and Modern: 1960s Home Styles and Neighborhood Trends in Carlisle"

Poetry Reading by Mary Anne Morefield from her book, "Earth, Grass, Trees and Stone." She will set the context for some of the poems by sharing history of the Scotch's Irish Cumberland County farm which inspired some of them.
