African American History in Carlisle

December 2, 2021 @ 7:00 pm - 8:30 pm

Noah Pinkney in front of Dickinson

Rubendall Recital Hall, Weiss Center for the Arts, Dickinson College

Campus and community scholars will introduce audiences to narratives of African American experience often left out of Carlisle’s more well-known histories. After the panel discussion, audiences are invited to participate in a collaborative community art project designed to highlight these stories. This program is co-sponsored by The Cumberland County Historical Society. It is part of a series of programs offered in conjunction with Horace Pippin: Racism and War, and Tracing Slavery: Moses Williams and Kara Walker’s Harper’s Pictorial History of the Civil War (Annotated), exhibitions on view at The Trout Gallery, Dickinson College
