Carlisle Indian Industrial School Virtual Tour

Barbara Landis will give a PowerPoint presentation of a virtual tour of the Carlisle Indian Industrial School. This tour is designed to prepare visitors for self-guided tours of the old school grounds. The school closed in 1918 however; many of the actual buildings are still standing and are registered as a National Historic Landmark.

She will explain how each treatment requires an individual approach and poses its own set of problems. Treatments to be discussed include objects from the Historical Society’s Collection, replacing areas of loss, carriage upholstery and more.
