Reed Architectural Lecture – Sustainability at Home

Joshua Dourte is the Principal at Roost Architecture, Inc. in Carlisle, Pennsylvania a firm focused on residential design with an emphasis on sustainability and historic homes. This talk will
introduce the main tenants of green building and will focus on key things that homeowners can do to make their homes more energy efficient. We will look into some new technologies
and tools to estimate and track and reduce energy usage at home as well as some lifestyle changes that can help reduce your environmental footprint. We will pay particular attention to
the issues and challenges that we face when trying to improve the efficiency of historic homes and ways thoughtful design can insure that the resources already tied up in our homes continue to serve our families for another generation.
