Felting Class with Bonnie Tweedy Shaw

The holidays are here! Join in the fun with local artist Bonnie Tweedy Shaw who will guide you through the step-by-step process and create a three-dimensional felted wool Penguin, complete with a scarf to fend off the cold. Sign up to take a Felting Class on Saturday – December 10th from 10:30 am to 12:30 pm in our light-filled conference room behind the shop; learn a new skill and have a lot of fun at the same time! The cost is $35 for CCHS Members and $40 for Non-members. Supplies will be will be $15, and available for sale at the class. Only 15 spots available. Must be at least 12 years old.

Ms. Shaw has a very eclectic interest in art mediums. She enjoys woodcarving, painting, pet portraits as well as sculpting with felted wool and paper mache. Animals are her favorite subjects. She loves to capture beloved pets on canvas or sculpt more wild subjects, such as wolves, foxes and other woodland and wild creatures. Often her interests take on a whimsical note, like carousel beasts, dragons and fairies.
The Cumberland County Historical Society is an active history center with an award winning museum, library, photo archives, educational center, museum shop and historic Two Mile House. The Historical Society’s mission is to collect, preserve, interpret and promote research of Cumberland County history. Anyone interested in local history is invited to become a member.
