History on High - The Shop is located at 33 West High Street in the heart of Carlisle's downtown historic district.
It is a collaboration of community efforts with grant assistance from the Redevelopment Authority of the County of Cumberland, the G.B. Stuart Charitable Foundation, and the State of Pennsylvania. Dickinson College also helped with staff assistance and resources. 

The shops offer a wide variety of merchandise to suit everyone's tastes. They highlight arts and crafts from Cumberland County artisans including paintings, metalwork, basketry, jewelry, food, clothing, woodcarvings, and Dickinson College related merchandise. There is a huge array of pubished materials regarding Cumberland County, as well as a selection of used collectible books. History on High - The Shop also features a large variey of reproduction photographs and other gift items relating to the Carlisle Indian Industrial School. We also have a history information center where visitors may find out more regarding various local sites. 

We have signed up a few demos here at the shop: Saturday, March 13 from 12-3 Ellie Swank demonstrating Ukrainian Pysanky Eggs (Ukrainian Egg Painting) featuring Duck, Ostrich, Goose, Chicken and Pigeon eggs.

Saturday, March 27 from 12-3 Christine from Christine's Creations will be here demonstrating the art of Chocolate making.

Saturday, April 17 from 12-3 featuring local artist Jonathan Frazier. Jonathan will be at History on High - The Shop painting in oil.

On April 23rd through May 28th, Earl Blust, a renowned local artist and an original member of the Seven Lively Artists will have a one-man show at History on High - The Shop. All art will be available for sale.
