For the past 25 years, the Cumberland County Historical Society has offered a popular, innovative hands-on educational experience to the county school districts and home-school cooperatives. Using authentic material culture, the programs bring history alive and offer a significant local resource for teachers and students. Offerings include field trips, walking tours, classroom visits, history camps, and family oriented events.

For Teachers
The program is a catalyst for interdisciplinary study and meeting curriculum goals. Much effort has been done to align our teaching with state and national learning standards. For teachers we offer in-service programs to demonstrate educational presentations. In-service programs are provided at your facility or at the Cumberland County Historical Society and are approved for Act 48 credits.
Support
Many of the innovative educational programs produced by the Cumberland County Historical Society are supported by businesses through the Educational Improvement Tax Credit Program.
