CCHS has been designated the official historical society for Cumberland County.  In an effort to preserve early county records dating from the 18th, 19th, and 20th centuries, many of these significant documents have been transferred to the historical society, including but not limited to the following:

The county has an active document scanning program.  When accessing county records, patrons will be asked to use the microfilm or scans when they are available to help preserve these valuable resources.
